Doctor of Chiropractic ยท Founder, HNDC
Dr. Jason has more than 25 years of experience in the healthcare industry. He started his career as a chiropractor and has successfully treated thousands of patients. However, he had to transition from manual techniques as he was struggling with habitual neuro-dysfunction (HND). Since then, he has been working with HND patients to help them overcome challenges and regain their health.
Treating patients and running a chiropractic practice was my dream that became a reality. When I was seeing patients and helping them with their loss of structural integrity, I knew I had reached my life passion. This came to a sudden halt when I was in a car accident that left me unable to walk and lost all feeling in my right leg and foot except for the pain. The pain in my right leg due to a massive disc extrusion did not even allow me to sit or lie down. The only position where I could get some relief was my knees on the floor and my chest across a bed. I had to sleep like this for weeks and have my family serve me food. I was not able to see patients anymore.
Luckily, after six months of care, the disc healed, the nerve pain decreased, and I regained all my leg and foot feeling. My structure was stable, and there were no signs left to say I had any issues.
However, I would wake every morning with excruciating back pain โ and this went on for a year and a half after the accident.
My sleep was interrupted by right leg cramps. I would get two to six a night. I could not lift anything, and I could not see patients as a chiropractor. This went on for a year and a half after the accident.
I was finally fed up with the issue, and no amount of massage, physical therapy, exercise, or diet would get it to stop. Since I have studied extensively about the nervous system, I decided to go a different route to see how I could change my path. I did not have any structural issues anymore that could link my pain to a source in my back.
I evaluated any other symptoms I was having as well. I was getting rashes on the palms of my hands that would come and go every two weeks. They itched for days, with a few days of relief in between. My neck was extremely stiff on the right side, and lifting it off my pillow in the morning hurt. I was having intestinal issues regularly, which had me visiting the bathroom often. I was stressed, and I was not sleeping well.
All these things have one system in common: the nervous system. Once I resigned to helping my nervous system and retraining my pathways, I noticed improvement immediately.
I am genuinely grateful for the education I had to become a doctor and know how to think differently about chronic pain. HND is a terrible problem, and I am glad I know how to treat it. This is my passion now. Even though I can fully return to being a chiropractor, I see the world needs this plan.
